Student Involvement Scholarship 2007
We are pleased to announce that for the sixth year in a row, the UCI LGBTRC has been the recipient of a donation that will provide 2 student scholarships for the academic year 2007-2008.
PURPOSE: To provide financial assistance to UCI students
who contribute to improving the campus environment for lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender students. The scholarship is
intended for students who have benefited from and contributed
to the LGBTRC at UCI.
ELIGIBILITY: UCI students who are currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at UCI and will be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student during the 2007-2008 academic year. Students who have been involved in services and activities at the UCI LGBTRC.
SELECTION PROCESS: Selection is based
on merit, quality of the essay submitted, and references. Financial
need may be considered as a final selection criterion.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2007-2008 academic year in the Fall quarter.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must submit completed application
and essay, 2 (two) letters of recommendation, official transcript,
and résumé (or brief overview of your LGBT related
activities).

2) Essay: Submit a typewritten composition (up to 1000 words)
addressing:
How have you both benefited from and contributed to the UCI
LGBT Resource Center?
3) Letters of recommendation: Provide 2 (two) recommendations
from faculty, staff, supervisor, or other professional who is
familiar with your work.
4) Resume or summary: Submit a brief summary of the activities,
organizations, or past projects at the LGBTRC, which reflect
your contribution to the LGBT community.
5) UCI official transcript (obtained from the UCI
Registrar)
DEADLINE: Applications are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday May 11, 2007. Late applications will not be accepted. Send completed applications to:
