Student Involvement Scholarship

Scholarship is intended for a continuing student who has both benefited from and contributed to the LGBT Resource Center. This merit scholarship provides financial assistance to students currently enrolled at UCI who identify as part of the lesbian gay bisexual and transgender community and participate in the activities of the UCI LGBT Resource Center.

Purpose:

To provide Financial Assistance to UCI students who contribute to improving the campus environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender students.

Eligibilty:

UCI students who are currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student and will be an undergraduate or graduate student during the next academic year (2007-2008). Also, students who have been involved with activities or service at UCI's LGBT Resource Center.

Selection Process:

Selection is based on merit. Financial need may be considered as final selection criterion.

Scholarship:

Annually, two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awared towards the next academic year during Fall Quarter (awards will be distributed Fall 2007).

Requirements/Application:

Applicants must submit the following:

• Essay: (typed, up to 1000 words) addressing how have you both benefited from and contributed to the UCI LGBT Resource Center?
• Letters of Recommendations: Two recommendations from faculty, staff, supervisor, or other professionals who are familiar with your work.
• Resume: to reflect your work with the LGBT community
• Transcripts: UCI official Transcripts (obtain from UCI Registar)
